Before you get the divorce, paying child support? Is this a new trend? It seems that embattled ex governor Arnold Schwarzennegger is doing just that.
Arnold is paying his soon to be ex-wife Maria Shriver a very nice sum of money, sources say. He is also paying for his sons, Christopher and Patrick's private school bills.
The couple has yet to take any financial agreement to court. Before that, Arnold has willingly decided to take care of his childrens' financial needs.
Sources say, even though Maria is a Kennedy, she has inherited a great deal of money from her parents' estate since their deaths, she is taking the child support.
She is entitled to the child support, once either one of them files for divorce, under California law. Arnold and Maria's lawyers have been working on a divorce settlement. In the meantime Arnold is willingly paying the money to Maria.
To garner an exact reading of her husband's vast net worth, currently Shriver is working with forensic accountants. From her 25 year marriage as an even richer lady, Shriver will be walking away, we have no doubt about that.
The source explained, Maria wants to get a fair divorce settlement, and move on with her life. She has already begun to do so. How gracious Maria is being about the entire situation, it would surprise people. She doesn't want the kids to suffer because of stupid decisions their father made."
